About Me
My journey has not been easy, but it has been worth it. For a long time, the trauma from my younger years kept me in this cycle of pain like an open wound, but with time, my work in therapy, the support of loved ones, and most importantly my relationship with God, I have been able to begin the healing work of turning these wounds into scars as I find a way out of this cycle and forward from my past. Don't get me wrong, I still face endless battles, but the freedom of self-awareness sets me free from the harmful cycle in which I was imprisoned for so long. As a previous Teacher, a now mental health therapist and writer, I have dedicated my life to helping others do the same. Through Written in the Scars, I hope to create a safe and supportive community where we can share our stories, struggles, and triumphs.

Purpose
My intent for this blog is not to wallow in self-pity or despair. Rather, I hope to create a public platform that communicates the power of vulnerability and the beauty in surviving. Through my own vulnerability, I can be as open as possible about my own life as I strive to break the stigma of addiction and present inner healing as an intentional, hard-fought battle. I want to expose the modern culture of superficiality that tragically restricts so many people from authentic freedom. Most importantly, my main desire for this blog is to impart hope in my readers that inner healing is ABSOLUTELY possible! Healing is an ongoing life process, and if we accept that truth, we are not living a life of suppression but of freedom and acceptance.
